Jane Is Two...

I can't believe Jane is two now!! It doesn't seem like that much time has gone by. Here is a lapse of the last two years, my how she has changed!

It's amazing how much one little girl can affect your life. She definitely is a roller coaster! She keeps us on our toes, literally-then makes us laugh and smile. She has turned into quite the bossy boots too. She loves Disney and singing la las (songs). She loves fruit snacks and hates olives. We have to let her stay in her crib for a while before we get her out or else she is one grouchy girl. She sleeps about 12 hours most nights. She loves to make people laugh. She definitely loves her BaBa (Vance) and is a TOTAL daddy's girl.

We love you sweet baby Jane!!

Our Merry Christmas...

We had a nice Christmas this year. It started out with us going to my Uncle's for Christmas Eve dinner. This has been a tradition ever since I can remember. I love going there. It always reminds me of my childhood with my grandpa. I sure do miss that man. All the guys played football outside, the kids played the wii, and the girls got to sit around and just chat. IT was very nice.

I loved watching my brother dance to this wii game. It was very cute when he and Vance did it together.

This is how our Christmas morning started out, with a GROUCHY little Jane!! It took her a few hours to actually wake up that morning.

Vance was rearing to go before he even woke up. He was so excited to see what he got. The whole Santa thing aside, it was fun to watch him be all excited. (he still isn't sure if Santa really brought that stuff)

Then he opened this! His reaction was priceless!! I just love when you can see genuine happiness on his face. He has always been an easy kid to please. He was happy with just this one big gift. (Thanks to his mamas and Uncles for pitching in.)

Jane was very happy to open her baby doll. It came with a stroller, bottle and diaper bag. I had to hide the fake binky because she has tried to steal it and return to the binky days. Silly kid!

Then we went to my dad's for Christmas breakfast. It was very nice. I got to see my grandma and my papa. I sure do love them! My step mom's family was there too. Her mom is the funnest to be around on the holidays. She is so funny. We had yummy food and a fun gift exchange. I made out too, I left with 2 gift cards. Pretty cool.

Then, we went to Daryl's parents, I didn't get any pics over there though. We had fun, were spoiled with gifts and played our traditional game of Phase 10. His mom always amazes me with all of the gifts we receive over there. She is pretty amazing. I loved everything she gave us!

Merry Christmas...

I thought I would post something today since I won't be home to do it any other day. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!

I have been very busy getting everything all set to go, so we can just drive home from Newport (wondering What? look here), grab things and go. We are very exited to have the opportunity to stay at such a beautiful place, but I am also having to prepare everything early. Yesterday, I baked for 5 hours. Yikes!! And I am not even done! We just have certain people who always expect something yummy from me. I made 3 dozen snickerdoodles, 2 dozen sugar cookies, and 1 batch of fudge...and a partridge in a pear tree. :)

The kids helped with the sugar cookies...

Van had fun rolling and cutting with me

Okay, maybe Jane didn't really help, but it was fun for her to watch and lick all of the cutters after, apparently flour is yummy?!?!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas time!!

Seriously, WTH!!!

For reals!! The last two times I have attempted to make chocolate cookies they turned out more like wafers. The first time I thought it was the butter since I bought cheap butter, but NO!!! It happened again! What am I doing wrong? I am using the same recipe that I have used for years. They always turned out fluffy and perfect before, now they are flat. They taste fine, but it's just not the same as having a perfect cookie. PLEASE HELP ME figure out what is going wrong!!! If I can't fix this problem I just may never make these cookies again and Daryl will not be a happy camper.
